1959 Chevrolet El Camino

The very first model year for Chevrolet’s ‘sedan pickup’, 1959 El Caminos have a style that is unique and instantly recognizable! These first generation (1959-1960) El Caminos are based on the on the existing Biscayne / Impala / Brookwood platform. They feature extensive brightwork, including the ‘eyebrow’ rear trim over the awesome ‘cateye’ taillights – exclusive to the 1959 model!! The 1960 model moved to the more traditional round taillights found on early ’60 Impalas. Under the hood is Chevy’s 348CI (5.7L) V8, mated to a 3-speed manual transmission.
